Sustainable Energy Building Systems (Level5)

 
Overview

This course aims to introduce the fundamentals of Sustainable Energy Systems. It will deal with both sustainable energy generation and energy conservation. The course concentrates on technologies in current use in Ireland – solar panels, heat pumps (geothermal), biomass, heat exchangers for waste heat recovery, high performance insulation etc.

Possible future developments such as micro combined heat and power (CHP) plants and photovoltaic systems will be considered.

An appreciation of the current Irish situation relating to policies, grants and support structures will also be given
