• Would you like to improve your drawing and painting skills?
• Would you like to get hands on experience exploring different materials and crafts like jewellery, woodcraft, sculpture and ceramics?
• Like to start a career as an Artist, Craftsperson or Designer?

If you would like to study art and design in Cork, we have the teachers, coursework and facilities to nurture and grow your talent. This Art course will guide you on your way to a creative career.

Subject on this Art course include Painting, Drawing, Sculpture and digital graphics.

*Students may have the option of doing either Art Metalwork or Computer Illustrated Graphics.

Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate (LC Established, LCVP or LCA) or equivalent

For mature applicants appropriate experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

All applicants are interviewed. A portfolio is not required but applicants will be asked to show five examples of their own creative work.

One-year full time

Portfolio Preparation

Many students use this Art course as a portfolio preparation course. There is one-to-one guidance for those applying to Art & Design Colleges including the MTU/Crawford College, TUS/Limerick school of art and design, NCAD and Colleges in the UK and Europe with very high success rates. There is also guidance with digital portfolio preparation.

Work Placement/Experience

Participants will be required to undertake 60 hourss of work placement in a relevant location. The College will assist participants in identifying suitable placements.
