Animal Management (Level 6)
Overview
The Level 6 Animal Management is designed to explore the large variety of establishments where animals are kept and equip students with the skills to be involved in managing such an establishment or developing their own small business in an animal related industry. Practical and supervisory skills are enhanced through the course with the students taking on more responsibility in the department and carrying out an independent practical study in an area of interest to them. Work experience is also carried out in a relevant establishment.
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate (5 passes)
Leaving Certificate Applied
or equivalent
Applicants of mature years will be considered on their merits
Work experience in Animal Care is of an advantage in application
To apply to any Level 6 Animal Care course you MUST possess Level 5 or equivalent with relevant modules.

- Animal Systems design and Construction
- Practical Project and Event Organisation
Students also choose two of the four:
- Small Animal Breeds
- Large Animal and Equine Husbandry
- Kennel and Cattery Management
- Wild Animal Husbandry, Rehabilitation and conservation
