Oil painting for beginners will teach you everything you need to know to learn how to paint in oils. New skills will be taught in painting and give you the confidence to learn this fun and exciting medium! It will cover general information on different types of painting such as landscape, portrait, and still life, to learning the elements of putting a painting together and how to do this. It will cover the basic art materials you will need. It will teach you different painting techniques or ways to apply the paint for interesting effects.

This course gives you an introduction into a broad range of metalwork techniques.  The course starts of using copper and wire. By the end of the course we would hope that you would make something in silver and basic stone mounting that you could wear.

course for which a Portfolio is Mandatory.
A high proportion of students in this class will be applying for college entry
in 2012. The objectives are to learn how to construct projects how to use research notebooks, process images and develop their ideas through 2D, 3D and colour. Students will learn how to create a relevant, personal and individual comprehensive Portfolio.

Drawing for Fine Art – Beginners

This 10 week course to develop student skills in three core areas:

1.     Observational drawing for landscape and still life.

2.     Contemporary drawing approaches exploring the individual creativity and design.

3.     Personal response to mark making and the use of a variety of media. During short practical projects, you will explore a range drawing techniques and the use of a variety of materials.

This day-time course will include practical demonstrations, assistance in visual analysis and observational skills, compositional planning, tonal awareness, perspective, texture and 3-dimensional forms. You will explore conceptual approaches to drawing to encourage the development of your own personal work.
